This breed is loyal, warm, affectionate, fun, and playful. They are also a very active breed and need plenty of walks, a good run, and lots of play each day. Because of this they are better suited for more active families. They get along well with children, dogs, and all people.
The Cocker is very smart and trainable. They are eager to please and very willing to listen to you. Due to their thick coat, which comes in many colors, they need to be regularly groomed. You will need to brush your dog at least every few days, and bathe them every couple of months. A typical lifespan is 12-15 years.
